This delicious caramel pecan cake is a delightful dessert that features a moist cake soaked in sweetened condensed milk and topped with a rich caramel sauce and praline topping.

- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup whole milk
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and milk until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 28–32 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While cake is warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the surface.
- Slowly pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
- Warm the caramel sauce slightly and pour evenly over the cake.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar and heavy cream. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
- Spread praline topping evenly over the cake.
- Allow cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- This cake is best served chilled after it has been allowed to soak in the sweetened condensed milk.
- Feel free to add more chopped pecans or other nuts for added texture.
