- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup long grain white rice (uncooked)
- 1 can (10 oz) French onion soup
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
- Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- In the prepared baking dish, combine the uncooked rice, beef broth, French onion soup, and the cooked beef. Stir to combine.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Remove foil and sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
- Return to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

- For added flavor, you can include vegetables like peas or corn.
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
