A rich and creamy garlic parmesan sauce perfect for drizzling over pasta, vegetables, or using as a dip.

- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, swirling to avoid browning.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle flour over the butter and garlic. Whisk constantly for 1–2 minutes until a light roux forms.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking to keep the mixture smooth.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat and stir in parmesan cheese until melted and glossy.
- Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Add optional red pepper flakes or herbs if desired.
- Simmer on low for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Serve warm or cool and store in a jar for later use.
Notes
- This sauce can be adjusted for thickness by adding more cream or flour as needed.
- Great for pasta dishes, as a pizza sauce, or drizzled over grilled chicken.
