Description

A comforting creamy chicken dish made in a slow cooker, perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 packets (1 oz each) chicken gravy mix
  • 1 can (10 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (optional)
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and thyme until smooth.
  2. Place the chicken breasts into the bottom of your slow cooker in a single layer.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken, coating all the pieces evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  5. Once done, shred or slice the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
  6. Stir in cream cheese if using, until fully melted and incorporated.
  7. If thicker gravy is desired, stir in a cornstarch slurry and cook for 10–15 minutes.
  8. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles and garnish with parsley.
