- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Stir in canned diced tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Add uncooked pasta into the pot, ensuring it’s submerged in the liquid.
- Slowly pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook until pasta is al dente (10-12 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese and chopped basil. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the sautéed garlic.
