- 200 g granulated sugar
- 62 g all-purpose flour
- 2 g baking powder
- 1 g salt
- 240 ml whole milk
- 115 g melted unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 120 ml fresh lemon juice
- 1 ml vanilla extract
- Optional powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease a 23 x 23 cm baking dish with unsalted butter or nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the whole milk, melted unsalted butter, lemon zest, fresh lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Transfer the batter into the greased baking dish in a flat layer without stirring.
- Bake in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving, and optionally sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
