Ingredients

- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy to activate the yeast.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms, starting with 2 1/2 cups of flour.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the dough into strips and tie each strip into a knot.
- Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over the knots and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm for the best experience.
